In a country where cases continue to rise, most of us try to live a normal life. It is hard to find work where you will be valued, even with having a law that is supposed to protect you. That is why some of us are afraid to disclose and experience difficulty in getting the benefits we deserve. Some, like me, have faced these fears and do not let our status be questioned. Receiving benefits is one of our struggles and it keeps self-stigma growing larger even in this age of supposed “HIV awareness.” Even those who were supposed to help, set boundaries and barriers. This celebration of A Day with HIV, I wish that things will improve, not later, but as soon as possible.
