Today’s selfie is a reminder that I am stronger than my diagnosis. I was diagnosed HIV-positive eight years ago last week, and it has been a mixed blessing. It has inspired me to take better care of myself, and as a result, I started running. Since then, I have completed multiple 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, and three full marathons. Not only has running helped me control my weight, it also makes me feel pretty badass about myself and proves at the age of 47, my diagnosis will not get the best of me!
